CFE Pistol (can use AutoComp) | 6.1 gr | CCI #500 SPP | Once-fired 9mm NATO range brass, un-annealed, Sellier & Bellot preferred | 1357 FPS | 9.66 | Noticeably less recoil over 115gr, actually pleasant to shoot out of a subcompact. Accuracy identical to FMJ 115gr. Did not need crimping. |
Snoozetech 124gr JHP | .754 +/-0.005 | 1.100 | 124gr JHP, Berry's | Accurate #2 | 4.5gr | CCI #500 SPP | Once-fired 9mm NATO range brass, un-annealed, Sellier & Bellot preferred | 1121 FPS (QL) | (missing data ╥﹏╥) |
These will jam every fucking time if you don't crimp them. Stopped loading due to 9mm bulk prices dropping. |

FTF rate of ~40% when uncrimped, 0% when crimped. These projectiles suck, they require like ~875+ FPS to expand and that just won't happen with .45 ACP. Got something comically slow like 730 fps out of my 3" Colt Defender. |

Deagle Fuel 240gr .44 Win Mag | 1.275 | 1.550 | Hornady 240gr XTP | Accurate #9 | 19.0 gr | CCI Large Pistol | Once-fired range brass, Herter's/mixed | 1348 FPS (QL) | (missing data ╥﹏╥) |
Cartridge OAL shorter than SAAMI spec to assist with cycling and feeding in a semi-auto. Rounds crimped. Most jams with a Desert Eagle are due to grip issues, but over-length .44 WM rounds will cause problems as many are longer than spec would entail; not a problem for revolvers, generally, but definitely an issue with the deagle. |
Maureen's .45 LC handloads | 1.266 | 1.600 | Lyman 452424 .45 Colt 255gr Lead Cast Semi-Wadcutter | Hercules(Alliant) Bullseye | 5.7 gr | Western Staynless Non-Mercuric #7 (Winchester #7) | Custom nickel-plated brass, orig. Winchester | 895 FPS | ~15 | Intended to just barely be under the sound barrier. Primers and case necks sealed with nail polish (red). |
Maureen’s .45LC 1894 Custom
-Winchester 1894 in .45 Long Colt
-Stock cut down to “mare’s leg” with screw-on wire stock like a KS-23, cheek riser made out of bent copper tube and clamped on; stock is short because Maureen is very petite (5’0”)
-PU scope and Russian mount directly bolted to frame, set slightly far back for better eye relief
-Barrel length cut down to 10 inches and threaded
-Maxim silencer surplused from US Army sniper stocks after end of WWI
-Magazine tube shortened to 6 rounds for reliable feeding and higher spring pressure
-Uses hand-cast Keith SWCs at 255 grains, clocks in at around 950 FPS at muzzle
-No major changes to internals other than polishing surfaces and greasing relevant parts
-Brass point target front sight added to newly shortened barrel, heightened slightly to account for suppressor
-Irons zeroed at 50 yards, scope has dope chart attached to laminated paper in Maureen’s purse but generally set to 100
-OAL without the stock should be around ~24 inches, with stock goes up to 30, suppressor removed (18 ish inches) means it fits in most large women’s shoulder bags
-Furniture replaced with dark-dyed Bakelite to prevent warping from humidity
-Spraypainted and clearcoated in black matte finish
-Around 8 lbs kitted out, but if used as a “pistol” without the stock or suppressor drops down to around 5-6 lbs
